Teacher Training Terms + Conditions
Pledge to Complete Training
By signing this Teacher Training Contract, trainees pledge to make all reasonable efforts to complete this training in its entirety.
Refunds
All trainees must provide a non-refundable $500 deposit to hold their spot.
Refunds of program fees beyond the $500 non-refundable deposit are only available to trainees that pay in full and must be requested no later than Novemebr 20, 2023.
Reporting of Issues
Trainees should report any issues with trainers and other trainees to the Lead Trainer(s). The Lead Trainer will make all reasonable efforts to resolve the issue through moderation of all involved parties.
Grievances & Code of Conduct with Other Trainees
By joining this teacher training, trainees recognize that they will be in the company of fellow trainees and will treat each other with the highest respect. Any grievances must be reported to the Lead Trainers. Grievances will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, through moderation and inquiry into the nature of the issue. Gossip, harassment, and breach of confidentiality are not tolerated and are grounds for dismissal from the program.
Payment Guidelines
The training program fees are:
Mat + Anatomy Training: $2000
Mat, Anatomy + Reformer Training: $4000
Reformer only: $2500
To qualify for the “Reformer only” training option, trainees must provide proof of prior mat and anatomy training.
Trainees are eligible for a 10% “early bird” discount on the fees listed above if fees are paid in full by October 15, 2023. A $500 non-refundable deposit is still required to hold a place in the training program. Trainees that wish to pay after the early bird cutoff date, must do so by November 1, 2023.
Trainees on a payment plan must submit a request for a payment plan via email and we will work together on a payment schedule. Tuition must be paid in full by the last date of training.
Each payment received is non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances.
The following additional fees may apply to this course:
One-hour private make-up session – $125
Test re-take – $100
Missed Practicum Teaching – $50
Tardiness fee - $15
Attendance & Missing Training Hours
It is required that all trainees attend all Saturday and Sunday lectures in-person. For extenuating circumstances, please submit a request via email for remote learning and it will be granted on an as-needed basis.
For emergency absences, trainees must notify the Lead Trainers prior to the date of a missed class and excused absences may be granted for extenuating emergencies only. To graduate, the trainee must still complete all hours and will be charged a rate of $125/hour for the missed lectures.
Tardiness
Any trainee who is tardy for class by more than 15 minutes will be charged a $15 late fee.
Withdrawal Policy
If a trainee wishes to withdraw from this program for any reason, they must contact the Lead Trainer to discuss their grievances/reasons face-to-face or over the phone first. No refunds will be issued after November 20, 2023 and trainees on a payment plan will not be issued refunds for payments already remitted.
Circumstances beyond the control of the trainee and The Reformery may interfere with a trainee’s ability to participate in the course, such as, but not limited to, illness, injury, pregnancy, job changes, family concerns, etc. If a trainee decides to end their participation in the course for any reason due to any circumstance, all prior payments and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. At the discretion of The Reformery, the trainee may join in the next scheduled program in good standing.
The Reformery may decide to terminate any trainee’s participation in the course in the event that:
False information was provided by the trainee in the admission process
A trainee missed more than 10% of any subject category
The trainee fails to make timely payments they have agreed upon;
The trainee is unable to pass a test after being given three attempts
The trainee’s conduct or behavior is unlawful or deemed inappropriate or disruptive to the welfare of the course or fellow trainees.
If The Reformery determines to end the trainee’s participation in the course, the trainee is not entitled to any prior payments or fees, as all prior payments and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If at any point in time the Lead Trainer deems a trainee’s behavior to fall in to the following categories, they may be removed from the training program without refund and not in good standing:
Gossip
Breach of Confidentiality
Harassment
Bullying
Sexual Harassment
Trainees must Attempt the Work
This training is designed to expose trainees to multiple facets of Pilates, including multiple styles, techniques and movements. Each student is responsible for their own safety and well-being. If the work being presented goes against a student’s bodily condition, they must let the Lead Trainer know immediately. If any part of the program does not align with the student’s personal beliefs, the work should be attempted and then abstained from if necessary.
Group Setting
This training is done in a group setting. Trainees are expected to be respectful of fellow trainees and limit questions and talking during class to items pertinent to the training.
Requirements
In order to graduate from this program, all students must complete the in-person lectures, observations, self-guided studies, class hours, apprentice teaching hours, written exam, and practical test-out.
Injuries
All injuries, past and current, must be reported to the Lead Trainer at the first training weekend. If any injuries should occur during the course of the training, they must be reported immediately to the Lead Trainer.
Scope of Training
This training is a 150-hour (mat+anatomy or reformer-only) or a 300 hour (mat, anatomy + reformer) Pilates teacher training. The scope of this training is to inform trainees on functional anatomy, the history, evolution and application of the Pilates method of mat and/or reformer, working with special populations, the business of Pilates and how to build your Pilates career.
No pledge is made that teachers who graduate from this training program are able to diagnose, prescribe, or heal their students.
No pledge is made that teachers who graduate from this training program are eligible to work at The Reformery, however graduates will be entitled to priority placement for auditions and interviews.
Hands-On Assists & Sexual Misconduct
During the course of the training, trainees may receive hands-on assists from the Lead Trainer and/or Assistants. Trainees always may decline an assist and Lead Trainer and Assistants will work diligently to ask before performing an assist. If at any time a hands-on assist becomes confusing, or deemed sexual misconduct, the trainee must alert the Lead Trainer or Management of the facility immediately.
Rare Cancellation of Training
Though every effort has been made to secure dates and times for the training, there may be a time when the training is cancelled for unforeseen circumstances. If this is the case, the Lead Trainer will work to find the best time that suits most trainees to reschedule. If the training is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. natural disaster), every attempt will be made to reschedule the remaining training dates. If none are found, refunds will be assigned by The Lead Trainer based on completion of program, minus the non-refundable deposit of $500.
Redistribution of Materials and Coursework
Trainees will have access to in-depth coursework written, owned and copyrighted by The Reformery. Written permission is required to:
Print, publish, photocopy or reproduce materials in any manner
Develop, reproduce, manufacture or distribute products based on The Reformery teacher training and/or
Start a training program to teach the contents of this training program or any other The Reformery techniques
